Brazil welcomes the legendary Papa Michigan for the first time, straight from Jamaica, for a historic performance alongside Liquidus Ambiento at the Palco República da Virada Cultural in São Paulo.
Anthony Fairclough, better known as Papa Michigan, was one of the artists responsible for the transition between the roots reggae of the 70s and the birth of modern dancehall. As a member of the historic duo Michigan & Smiley, he helped popularize the toasting/DJ style that paved the way for future generations.
This event confirms Virada Cultural as a fundamental space for Jamaica-Brazil exchange in the national reggae calendar.
